Gaming Week 5,6,7,8

Posted in EQ2, MMO's on February 25, 2008 by mightydar

I seem to really have fallen behind on my gaming updates. Not really too much has happened over the last month in gaming.  Not only have a fallen behind in my blog posting but also in my reading I am sure everyone has those time where it is just one thing after another in both real life and in gaming. So here goes a 1 month run down.

I did reactivate my CoH/CoV account for my son to play and was really surprised at how many servers where showing yellow and red statues. I am not really sure what they have going on over there but it really seems to be bringing people back. He is doing really well in the game and is up to level 10. I did have to tell him it isn’t polite to just follow people around and heal. He was having fun just following people around and healing them out of group. So I guess it is goodbye ToonTown and hello CoH/CoV.

There just really isn’t a whole lot to report on in EQ2. The guild I am in Revelry and Honor is almost level 30. I have doing my HQ’s and building up my statues points. Cannot wait to get my 6 room acorn. Lets see my Illusionist Amirah is up to level 47 I should be 48 by the end of the week.  I also got her to level 24 as a tailor.

Well that is about it. I am still having a good time in EQ2 but it looks like all the real excitement is with my son and CoH/CoV.

I just wonder what drops the Rogan.

Why every game needs an appearance tab.

My First Guild

Posted in BKB on February 12, 2008 by mightydar

Here is a little back ground on me. My first guild was BKB it started out as a WWII online guild. I friend of mine Caman was a member in WWII online. So he calls me up one day and asks me if I had heard of a game in development by SOE called Star Wars Galaxy.  I sure had I had been following in for about a year now.  Needles to say he had an extra beta key and offered it to me. And thus began my adventures with BKB.

BKB in SWG was a great guild we played on the Chilastra server and the guild was awesome. We where a rebel guild and had formed a rebel collation to destroy those cursed Imp’s. There were a lot of great people in BKB. I will not bother listing all of them that would just be too long. We worked together as a team in everything.  There was nothing like logging in to game and be in a group within minutes hunting down avian bone for crafters to make armor for the guild with. When player cities went live are guild leader Webco took the day off from work to be ready to log in and get a city lot. We had our city lot with in minutes of them going live. Even today with BKB all gone in the game Regails still stands strong today. Are leaders where dedicated to the guild and the game completely.

Like most guilds as they grow guild drama starts to ensue.  The guild leaders did a great job of trying to keep things together but with the guild drama and the constant issues with the game BKB finally left SWG.  I don’t think any of the original BKB members still play the game. Now BKB is still around and are looking for a game that everyone can play together.  There is a large group of members in EVE online, Ogame and still WWII online.

I have to say I don’t think I could have picked a better guild to start playing MMO’s with.

Top 5 Game Features

Posted in MMO's, Thoughts on February 5, 2008 by mightydar

Someone sent in an Email to Troy at Equal Perspectives talking about their top game features. So I thought what the heck all list mine.

1.       The broker system from EQ2. I like the fact that the system incorporates your house. The bigger your house the more slots you have available to sell out of. You can shop all four brokers at the same time and search by tier, slot and state.

2.       Group harvesting from Vanguard. The more people you have on a resource the higher the yield.

3.       Skill system from CoH/CoV. The fact that you upgrade your skills the way you would like is a great thing. You really get you abilities to work the way you want them to.

4.       The encounter window from Vanguard. The fact that every mob is listed right there for you to see is awesome.

5.       Last but not least another Vanguard pick but I have to say it the LFG system. I have talked about it before so. Link  Now they have fixed the system and it does work now.

So that’s it in no special order just my top 5 features.

Pumpkin Head

Posted in EQ2 on February 5, 2008 by mightydar

Once again I have fallen behind on my blog. The good news is that I haven’t fallen behind on my game time. Some guild mates and I did take down Pumpkin Head the other night.  So now we can all sport little pumpkin heads.

Nibldum, Nibldee, Meriwyn, Amirah, Aryanoe, Vadel, Whoof, Dawgfood and Elementor
